The Phoenix Suns didn’t make many changes at last week’s NBA trade deadline, but they did acquire Royce O’Neale and David Roddy from the Memphis Grizzlies in a three-team deal.
However, they obviously weren’t done altering their roster.
On Tuesday morning, Adrian Wojnarowski reported that free agent Thaddeus Young is finalizing a deal to join the Suns.
Young was recently traded from the Toronto Raptors to the Brooklyn Nets, where he was then bought out and made available for the Suns.
This deal brings the Suns to the 14-man minimum that they need for their roster.

The buyout market was pretty shallow this year so Phoenix didn’t have many choices when it came to adding talent.
Additionally, because of financial rules, the Suns cannot sign players who are bought out on deals paying above $12.4 million this season.
All of this limited how they could improve the team but their latest selections could help the Suns out.
The 35-year-old Young has been a rotation player for the Raptors for the last few seasons, averaging 5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.7 assists.
Before that, he played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Brooklyn Nets, Indiana Pacers, and Chicago Bulls.
Young joined the league back in 2007 and has years of experience and expertise that he can bring to the team.
He is also an impressive shooter and comes in at six-foot-eight and 225 pounds.
In many ways, Young is the exact sort of player that the Suns need: experienced, reliable, and comfortable in a number of roles.
But will he be enough to help push the Suns to the next level and help them climb higher than their current sixth seed in the West?
