Suns Owner Makes An Announcement After Nikola Jokic Incident

The Phoenix Suns managed to hold their own and even things up vs. the Denver Nuggets.

The Nuggets were the fairly superior team in the first two games of the series, and not having Chris Paul in the lineup could’ve been a catastrophe for Monty Williams’ team.

Even so, we got a fresh slate now as both teams head back to Mile High for a must-win Game 5.

Notably, some are worried one of the teams might not be at full strength for that contest, as Nikola Jokic could be suspended for elbowing Suns owner Mat Ishbia after an altercation on the sideline.

Great win for the Suns last night in an amazing series so far!
That should be and is the only story. Suspending or fining anyone over last nights incident would not be right. I have alot of respect for Jokic and don’t want to see anything like that. Excited for game 5! Go Suns!

That’s why Ishbia took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the matter and claim that he or anyone else shouldn’t be suspended, which obviously led to some mixed reactions on social media.

Trying to save face?

Pretty sure the owner should be fined

How about owning your actions.
Leave the ball alone ding dong!!

YOU should be suspended

Of course, some think that Ishbia is just trying to save face, and should actually be the one to face a suspension.

Others believe they should both be disciplined for the incident, while others just praised Ishbia for getting the referees to call a technical foul on Jokic and get his team a much-needed point.

It’ll be up to Commissioner Adam Silver to determine whether either of those parties will be suspended, but it seems like a fine is the likeliest scenario here.

There’s no place for violence in sports, let alone between fans and athletes, so the league isn’t likely to overlook this and will have to make some sort of public statement on the matter.
