The Phoenix Suns haven’t done much to get better this offseason.
They lost a couple of key reserve players, and replacing Frank Vogel with Mike Budenholzer might not be what they needed right now.
However, given their tight salary cap situation, they weren’t in a position to bring many — if any — reinforcements.
That’s why they can only hope that help comes from within.
According to a report by John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Phoenix, the Suns hope that Damion Lee will step up next season (via Evan Sidery).
The Suns plan to play Damion Lee in the role replacing Eric Gordon off the bench next season, per @Gambo987 (https://t.co/NTVFZ7pBFM).

Apparently, they expect him to fill in for Eric Gordon, who recently left to join the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Suns want Lee to come off the bench and provide shot-making and floor-spacing like Gordon.
He missed the entire previous season with a torn meniscus, but he shot almost 45% from beyond the arc in the 2022-23 season with them.
Lee is one of the most efficient three-point shooters in the game, but perhaps that might not be why he could make a big impact in the desert next season.
Budenholzer’s team is in big need of a point guard, as neither of their stars are pass-first players or actual playmakers, so perhaps we could see Lee with the ball in his hands more often than earlier in his career.
This Suns team has some glaring needs and evident flaws that they could’ve and should’ve addressed in the offseason, and they might pay the price for that at the end of the season.
