Cooper Flagg is one of the rising future stars in the world of basketball.
The 17-year-old phenom, who is going to be playing college basketball at Duke this year, participated in a practice with Team USA this summer to help prepare it for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Team USA select coach Jamahl Mosley joined “The Jim Rome Show” recently to talk about what makes Flagg a different type of player.
“I think it was his mindset. … His ability to play with confidence. … Not backing down and not being shy or afraid of the moment,” Mosley said.

Imagine walking onto a practice floor as a 17-year-old to go up against LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant and other NBA superstars.
That is exactly what Flagg had to do, and as Rome stated at the beginning of the interview, Flagg showed out.
The 6-foot-8, 205-pound soon-to-be college freshman likely has a very bright future in the NBA given his abilities, measurements and intangibles.
He will be the latest in a long line of great, young Duke players to walk through the halls of Cameron Indoor Stadium this season.
It remains to be seen if he wants to play just one year for head coach Jon Scheyer before heading to the NBA.
Regardless, the sky is the limit for the 2022 USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year.
If he ends up having a fantastic freshman season at Duke, look for teams to be all over him next summer in the 2025 NBA Draft.
