Earlier this week, the star-studded Team USA squad practiced four times at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, before taking on Canada at T-Mobile Arena to assess their progress ahead of the Olympics in Paris, France, later this month.

Fortunately for the Americans, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jamal Murray were unable to contend with the likes of Team USA and lost to the favorites to win gold in convincing fashion, which has many believing Team USA will cruise to victory this summer.

After making easy work of the Canadians in Las Vegas, LeBron James and company have traveled overseas and will take on Australia in Abu Dabi on Monday with an update from the team’s coaching staff in terms of who will be starting for the Americans.

According to Joe Vardon of The Athletic, Team USA will have Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves and reigning NBA champion Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics in the starting lineup via Legion Hoops.

Monday’s game against Australia will be one of two that the Americans will play in Abu Dabi, with the other being against Nikola Jokic’s Serbia squad before heading to London, England, to take on South Sudan and Germany.

The American’s first game during the Olympics in Paris will be on July 28 against Serbia, followed by South Sudan on July 31 and Puerto Rico on August 3.

As of right now, Steve Kerr’s squad is the team to beat heading into the Olympics, but that can soon change if injuries become a problem or one of the competitors is better than expected.
