LeBron James is just weeks away from participating in his last Olympic games for America and he wants to make them count.
Because of his skills and status, most people assumed James would be one of the team’s starters, but there has been speculation about him possibly coming off the bench because of his age.
However, according to Joe Vardon of The Athletic, per NBACentral, it is unlikely that James will be part of the team’s second unit.
Instead, James is expected to start, perform as the team’s point forward, and play off the ball with Steph Curry.

This makes sense for several reasons and enhances Team USA’s chances of winning big during the Olympics.
James is 39 years old but he’s still a supremely talented player and a wonderful basketball mind.
Having him start games will put Team USA on the right footing.
Plus, he has great camaraderie and relationships with several other starters, including Curry.
Lastly, James is still one of the biggest athletes in the world and fans will want to see him starting in these games.
This is the last time James will be playing for Team USA.
He might participate in the NBA for a couple more seasons but it’s very unlikely he will be able to suit up for the next Olympics four years from now.
James has said that he wants to go out with a bang and make his country proud one last time.
Team USA is more stacked than usual, with Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid, Devin Booker, Jayson Tatum, Anthony Edwards, and others joining James and Curry.
This year’s Olympics will feature the greatest names in the league all competing to bring home the gold.
And, once again, they will be led by James.
