Heading into the NBA bubble back in 2020, the Los Angeles Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers were considered the teams to beat, as both rosters were stacked and hitting their stride at the right time.
However, once the strange and unusual experiences of the bubble got underway, the Lakers flourished while the Clippers struggled to reclaim their form as arguably the best team in the league that year.
As a result, the Clippers ended up collapsing in the NBA playoffs, with an epic series loss to Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, while LeBron James and the Lakers went on to win the franchise’s 17th NBA title.
In a recent appearance on the “Run Your Race” podcast via Tidal League, Clippers guard/forward Terance Mann made a bold statement about what would’ve happened had the league chosen not to go with the odd bubble experience, via NBACentral.

In retrospect, any team that was in contention at that time could’ve made the statement that Mann did, claiming that they would’ve won it all if they didn’t have to go to Orlando, Florida, and get locked up in the NBA bubble for months.
The fact of the matter is the Clippers lost and lost in embarrassing fashion after everyone thought they’d finally go the distance and have the franchise’s best chance to win its first title.
Three years later, the Clippers are no closer to winning a title and seem like they’ve missed their championship window unless they can put it all together during the 2023-24 season.
