The Angels Finally Snapped Their Losing Skid

The Los Angeles Angels were aggressive buyers this year at the trade deadline, adding pieces such as Lucas Giolito, Reynaldo Lopez, C.J. Cron, and Randal Grichuk to strengthen their roster.

However, things began to go south for the Halos after the deadline, as they went on a seven-game losing streak, which included some blown leads in the ninth inning.

Monday night was yet another example of that, as they came to within three outs of a win but ultimately faltered.

On Tuesday, they managed to beat the San Francisco Giants, 7-5, and finally snap the losing streak.

With their seven-game skid, the Halos had fallen to two games below the .500 mark and were eight games back in the Wild Card race.

They picked up a game in the Wild Card race last night, as the Toronto Blue Jays fell to the Cleveland Guardians by a final of 1-0.

An offensive outburst and a strong start by Giolito helped the Angels finally break the ice and put an end to their skid.

Giolito, who was acquired from the Chicago White Sox, pitched six innings and gave up three runs on three hits while striking out seven batters and walking three.

The Angels still remain 11.5 games out of first place in the American League West.

But they were able to put an end to their woes, at least for one night, as they handled the Giants and snapped their losing streak.

They’ll have a chance to win their first series since the deadline on Wednesday night.
