The Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs have experienced some turnover at the wide receiver position.

Tyreek Hill, one of the best in the business, was unexpectedly traded to the Miami Dolphins last offseason, and this offseason, JuJu Smith-Schuster departed and joined the New England Patriots.

Another playmaker will likely be needed if the Chiefs are to have a great shot at their third world championship in a five-year span.

They may have found him in the 2023 NFL Draft when they took Rashee Rice with the No. 55 pick.

The #Chiefs are selecting SMU WR Rashee Rice at pick No. 55. A new weapon for Patrick Mahomes. He had 96 catches, 1,355 yards and 10 TDs last season.

Rice played all four seasons of his college career at Southern Methodist University and in 2022 he caught 96 catches for 1,355 yards and 10 touchdowns.

At 6-foot-1 and about 200 pounds, he has good size to play the WR position in the NFL, and he displayed a strong ability to add yards after the catch at SMU.

In addition to Rice panning out, the Chiefs will need others to step up and fill the void left by the departure of Smith-Schuster, who gave them 933 yards and three touchdowns in the regular season.

Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who had 687 yards and two touchdowns in 2022, will now be the team’s No. 1 wideout, and they will need more production from Skyy Moore, who tallied 250 yards as a rookie last season.

Of course, Kansas City still boasts Travis Kelce, the best tight end in the world, and at age 33, he shows no signs of slowing down.

He had 1,338 yards and a career-high 12 touchdowns last season, and he will continue to be Patrick Mahomes’ favorite target.
