Philadelphia Phillies fans have a reputation for being loud, relentless, and for prioritizing their team above everything else.

They are intense, yes, but they are also loyal.

On Tuesday, they were there, at Citizens Bank Park, supporting their team even though they weren’t able to win Game 7 and advance to the World Series.

Frustrated after a tough loss, they started booing the Arizona Diamondbacks after their win.

The D-Backs were ecstatic, and they started to celebrate, as is their right, because they achieved something great.

Philly fans weren’t too happy about that and booed D-Backs players.

Their answer to that situation, was both unexpected and hilarious.

“The Diamondbacks, getting booed by a few relentless Phillies fans as they take their team picture, started booing back,” MLB insider Chelsea Janes tweeted.

Arizona is returning to the Fall Classic for the first time since they won it all in 2001.

Those were the days in which Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling dominated in the rotation and Luis Gonzalez led the way offensively.

Six years after that, in 2007, the D-Backs played their last National League Championship Series, but lost to the Colorado Rockies.

How can they not celebrate returning to the most exciting series of the season?

It’s not unexpected for home fans to boo the away team, especially after a win, and fortunately there weren’t major incidents to report beyond a fanbase expressing their sadness and a winning squad celebrating a victory.

This Phillies team was always competitive and represented the city with pride and dignity even in defeat.
