Each year, Father’s Day always comes with a full slate of baseball games as the season rolls on.
One of those games was a marquee matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Francisco Giants, two historic rivals of the National League.
In recent years, the rivalry has been a one-sided affair in favor of the Dodgers.
However, it was different this weekend.
This time, it was the Giants who gained the upper hand on the Dodgers, as they pulled off a three-game sweep.
It was the first time the Giants had pulled off a sweep of the Dodgers on the road since all the way back in 2012, as was noted by Bob Nightengale of USA Today on Twitter.

The Giants won the NL West back in 2021, barely edging out the Dodgers by one game.
However, the Dodgers got the last laugh, defeating their arch rivals in five games in the NLDS.
And to add insult to injury, the Dodgers clinched in San Francisco.
Last year, the Dodgers were winners of 111 games while the Giants finished 30 games back.
This time around, the Giants returned the favor and pulled off a sweep against their hated rivals.
They ran their win streak up to seven games and achieved something that they hadn’t in over a decade.
Now, the Giants sit in second place in the NL West, having leapfrogged the Dodgers and knocking them down to third.
San Francisco is in possession of the second NL Wild Card spot after their sweep.
In recent years, the Dodgers have had the upper hand, but the Giants may be turning the tide of the rivalry.
