After an impressive finish to the 2022 campaign coming just short of beating the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL playoffs, the Jacksonville Jaguars have proven to be one of the most promising young teams in the league.

One of the main reasons for the team’s success is the emergence of star quarterback Trevor Lawrence as a legitimate force to be reckoned with under center.

Lawrence was a highly-touted player coming out of the college game, with some comparing him to NFL legend Peyton Manning, but he was a disappointment early in his career and had only just turned things around.

With Lawrence being the face of the franchise moving forward, the Jaguars will do everything in their power to protect him, and they’ve got a big void to fill after the departure of right tackle Jawaan Taylor, who they might replace with Cam Fleming if his visit goes well.

The Jaguars hosted free agent OT Cam Fleming on a visit.

He led all Broncos players with 976 snaps in 2022, holding down the right tackle spot.

Losing Taylor to the Chiefs, the team that beat them in the playoffs, is a costly blow to Lawrence’s protection and the team.

The 30-year-old Fleming is about as experienced as it gets at the right tackle position and has two Super Bowl rings to prove it, as he helped protect Tom Brady during two championship runs with the New England Patriots.

Last season, Fleming was with the Denver Broncos and had his hands full trying to keep opposing defenses away from superstar quarterback Russell Wilson.

It’ll be interesting to see if the Jaguars go with Fleming or continue their search for a right tackle in the weeks leading up to the NFL Draft.
