Throughout the past decade or so, the New York Knicks have been tied to nearly every single star player that has been rumored to be available.
That’s why it shouldn’t be much of a surprise to see that they’re keeping tabs on Bradley Beal’s situation, according to Fred Katz, via NBA Central.
Beal has reportedly reached out to the Washington Wizards to find a trade partner, and the Knicks could be interested in making a run for his services.
However, this might not be in the best interest of the Knicks.

Of course, the prospect of having a backcourt of Jalen Brunson and Bradley Beal seems great on paper, and that would allow RJ Barrett to slide to the three.
It could also allow them to get rid of Julius Randle, but Beal’s contract is a big issue.
Beal will make $57 million when he’s 33 years old, and he has a no-trade clause in his contract, so they could be stuck with an aging player on the decline if this experiment doesn’t work out the way they wanted to.
He’s a three-time All-Star and could be a very good second option on a winning team, but that cost may not be worth it at this point in his career.
The Knicks have done an outstanding job of gathering assets and draft picks, and the Wizards will most likely demand a steep payment for their franchise player.
But even despite all those things we mentioned, he’s still expected to gauge some league-wide interest among championship-caliber teams.
