Although they ended the regular season strong, the Los Angeles Lakers are still looking to get better.
But many fans don’t want them to make major changes because the current roster has so much potential and talent.
However, the front office might attempt to shake things up in a big way if the offseason allows it.
According to Sean Deveney, via NBACentral, one executive in the league believes the Lakers will target Trae Young, currently of the Atlanta Hawks.
“They went out and got tradeable pieces. If the Hawks don’t make a move in the summer, the Lakers would be a possibility next season… I also don’t buy that every guy who signs with Klutch is going to the Lakers, that is obviously not the case. But this is one they have been watching,” according to the report.

Right now, Young and his Hawks are battling to make it through the first round but they are having a tough time against the Boston Celtics.
All season long, there have been rumors of Young being unhappy on his team and contemplating a big change if things don’t get better.
If the Hawks get pushed out in the first round and next season is also a mess, the idea of Young leaving his team could become a reality.
According to Deveney’s report, the Lakers have been “watching” the Young situation but they surely haven’t been the only ones.
Although he hasn’t had his best season ever, Young is still one of the most talented guards in the league.
What would LA have to do in order to land the blockbuster star?
While fans of the Lakers would be happy to see Young in purple and gold, they wouldn’t want the team to give up too much to get him.
They are quite happy with the roster they have now, despite its struggles.
