The Detroit Lions had unexpected success during the 2022 season, finishing the year with a 9-8 record.
Had the Seattle Seahawks lost their final game of the season, the Lions would have made it into the playoffs.
With the taste of the playoffs fresh on their minds, the Lions will look to 2023 with playoff aspirations in mind.
Jared Goff was one of the NFL leaders in passing yards and touchdown passes last season.
Despite his success, Goff still has plenty of doubters, and many have projected the Lions to draft a quarterback at the end of April.
Ahead of the draft, the Lions have scheduled several meetings with top prospects, including Hendon Hooker, per Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Hooker was a two-year starter for the University of Tennessee, throwing for 3,135 yards, 27 touchdowns, and just two interceptions in his final collegiate season.
During the pre-draft process, Hooker’s name has continually come up in conversations, and his draft stock appears to be rising.
For several weeks, C.J. Stroud, Bryce Young, Anthony Richardson, and Will Levis have been the highest-touted quarterback prospects, at least in the public eye.
Being that the Lions have the sixth and 18th picks in the draft, they could be in the market to draft Hooker, especially if he falls to 18.
Goff has two years left on his current contract with the Lions.
If the team does bring in a rookie quarterback like Hooker, they could use those two years for him to grow and develop, priming him for the 2025 season.
