The Miami Marlins hosted the New York Yankees in an important weekend series for both franchises.
Miami is currently 62-57 and holds a half-game lead over the Chicago Cubs for the third and final Wild Card spot in the National League.
On the other hand, the Yanks are currently out of the postseason and five games behind the third Wild Card.
The Yankees won Friday’s affair, 9-4.
However, the Fish answered back on Saturday and took Sunday’s finale after a wild comeback.
People at loanDepot Park were there to witness an amazing series between two teams fighting for a place in October.
Per Marlins insider Daniel Alvarez-Montes, 35,043 people went to watch Sunday’s game, and the weekend as a whole reported 100,000 people.

No series in the history of loanDepot Park has had that much attendance, which is a clear sign that the Marlins’ project is growing steadily and that people will go to the ballpark if the team gives them a reason to do it.
No fanbase, or very few of them, will fill a stadium when the team is in last place.
Now, if the team is competitive and fighting for something, they will come.
Sure, the Yankees have a lot of fans in Miami (and along the whole East Coast, to be fair), but the Marlins drew an impressive crowd and that should be celebrated.
They certainly got their money’s worth on Sunday, as Miami came back from a five-run deficit in the eighth inning to stun the Yankees.
There is a good chance there is postseason baseball in Miami this year.
