Though it’s still only June, the races for the major seasonal awards are starting to heat up.
The National League MVP race is one that is going to be fascinating to watch as the rest of the season unfolds.
On one hand, the Atlanta Braves have a star in Ronald Acuna Jr., who is having yet another fantastic season.
Acuna is now two years removed from his ACL injury.
He is hitting .331 with 12 home runs and 32 RBI.
He also has stolen 26 bases.
The Miami Marlins also have something special in Luis Arraez.
The reigning American League batting champion has hit just one home run, but is hitting for a .401 average.
On Twitter, MLB Metrics pointed out just how intriguing the race for the NL MVP Award could be as the rest of the season unfolds.
This NL MVP race is going to be fascinating. Acuña could be the first player ever to go 30/60 and Arraez could be the first player to hit .400 since Ted Williams. Who would you vote for if both those things happened? pic.twitter.com/Aw8pOFBiby

Not since Ted Williams has a player hit for an average of .400 or better.
Arraez has a chance to do that this season.
Acuna could become the first player in Major League history to ever hit 30 home runs and steal 60 bases in the same season.
Both stars have an opportunity to accomplish historic feats this season, and it should be entertaining to watch this summer.
Arraez was picked up by the Marlins from the Minnesota Twins in the Pablo Lopez trade after winning the batting title in the AL last season.
He has given the Marlins a boost in his first year with the team.
But Acuna can never be overlooked as he fights for his first MVP Award.
