The Baltimore Orioles have been one of Major League Baseball’s most interesting teams since last season.
After losing 110 games in 2021, not much was expected of the O’s the following year.
However, they won 83 games and just barely missed out on the final Wild Card spot in the American League.
Fast forward to 2023, and they are now tied with the Tampa Bay Rays at the top of the AL East, but lead the division by virtue of winning percentage.
Since 2022, the Orioles have gone 70 consecutive series of at least two games without being swept.
It is the longest active streak in baseball and it puts them in some historic company, per Sarah Langs.

1903-05 Giants: 106
1922-24 Yankees: 83

2003-05 Braves: 72

The longest such streak in the history of baseball belongs to the St. Louis Cardinals, who went 125 consecutive series from 1942-44 without being swept.
The New York Giants went 106 consecutive series without being swept from 1903-05.
The Orioles themselves are also on the list.
As for the St. Louis Browns, they went 72 consecutive series without being swept from 1921-23, which ties them with the San Diego Padres (1997-99) and Atlanta Braves (2003-05).
Two more series without being swept ties this year’s Orioles club with the Browns, Braves, and Padres.
The red-hot O’s are set to open up a four-game series against the struggling Tampa Bay Rays, who once had baseball’s best record but have now fallen on hard times.
The Orioles have been one of baseball’s best stories over the past two seasons.
They’ve been a very entertaining team for fans to watch and are prepared to begin a new era of Orioles baseball.
