Since the start of NBA free agency, numerous people have wondered what’s next for Pascal Siakam and the Toronto Raptors.
Siakam has been noticeably absent from the sidelines at Summer League, leading some to think that he and the team may be parting ways.
According to Michael Grange, via NBACentral, the Pacers have now contacted the Raptors to discuss a Siakam trade.
It’s not surprising to hear that other teams are inquiring about landing Siakam – but will it lead to anything?

If Toronto does decide its time with Siakam is over, it would be a huge change for the team.
He is currently the team’s top scorer with an average of 24.2 points per game and 7.8 rebounds as well.
The team’s second-best scorer in 2022-23, Fred VanVleet, is no longer with the team so the loss of Siakam would be felt even more.
Inside reporting has said that Siakam wants to stay with the Raptors but the team’s front office has been dragging its feet about developing a new deal with him.
Could the Pacers offer them something or someone they’d like?
If Siakam did move down to Indiana, he would add size and immense power to that lineup.
As for the Raptors, a move like this could impair their roster in a big way and set them up for a rebuild.
But Toronto has said a rebuild isn’t their plan so they’d want someone in return and someone who could help them win as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, Indiana has said that several of their big stars are untouchable.
Therefore, it’s not clear what a trade for Siakam would look like but if both sides are interested, they could make something happen.
