The New England Patriots finished the 2022 season with an 8-9 record, missing the playoffs for the second time in the past three years.

As they look to re-tool their team for 2023, the Patriots have already made several roster moves, with more to follow in the coming weeks.

Ahead of the draft, the Patriots have brought in several prospects, including wide receiver Zay Flowers, per Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network.

BC WR Zay Flowers landed in Boston at 6 a.m. from an overnight Vegas flight and went straight to the #Patriots facility to spend the day learning the offense with Bill O’Brien on his visit, per source. New England has the No. 14 pick, three weeks from today.

According to Pelissero’s report, Flowers spent time with Bill O’Brien during his visit, beginning to learn New England’s offense.

During the offseason, the Patriots lost Jakobi Meyers to free agency, a blow to their receiving corps.

However, they have signed JuJu Smith-Schuster, Mike Gesicki, and James Robinson, adding three new weapons to their offense.

Flowers is a highly regarded receiving prospect and could provide an instant solution to one of the Patriots’ most pressing needs.

In his final collegiate season at Boston College, Flowers totaled 78 receptions, 1,077 yards, and 12 touchdowns.

Whether the Patriots will decide to draft Flowers remains to be seen.

However, many fans and analysts have called for the Patriots to make some drastic changes on offense, especially after their 2022 performance.

During the 2022 season, the Patriots offense averaged 21.3 points per game, which was the 17th-best mark in the league.

By adding free-agent weapons, and a potential first-round receiver, Mac Jones should be put in a favorable position to succeed.
