The Pistons Are On Track To Break Infamous NBA Record

There was a time when the Detroit Pistons were one of the best teams in the NBA.

But that era of dominance is undoubtedly over for the Pistons.

As of now, they are one of the worst teams in the league, and it’s evident from their league-worst 2-17 record.

Speaking of which, the Pistons have recently clinched an unwanted record following their most recent defeat against the New York Knicks.

The Pistons are on track to surpass the 2011-12 Charlotte Bobcats for the worst winning percentage in NBA history, as revealed via HoopsHype on Twitter.

The Pistons now have a worse winning percentage than the 2011-12 Charlotte Bobcats.

With an abysmal 2-17 record, the Pistons currently have a .105 winning percentage in the 2023-24 NBA season.

It’s worse than the Bobcats in the 2011-12 NBA season, who finished the campaign with a 7-59 record.

As of now, the 2011-12 Bobcats still hold the worst single-season record in NBA history.

But the way that the Pistons are playing this season, they are on track to take the title from the Bobcats.

In fact, if the Pistons fail to cross 10 wins this season, they will become only the third team in NBA history to finish the regular season in single-digit wins.

Apart from the Bobcats, the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers finished the regular season with a record of 9-73.

Now, that’s an unwanted record for the Pistons,

While the fanbase will hope for a miraculous comeback by their team in the remainder of the season, the odds of seeing that happen are close to zero.

After all, we are talking about a team that failed to win even a single game in November 2023.
