The Tampa Bay Rays are the only undefeated team in MLB, with a 10-0 record.
That’s impressive even though the quality of competition they have faced isn’t the best.
Good teams defeat bad teams, and that’s precisely what the Rays have been doing.
Their first three series were against very weak opponents: the Detroit Tigers, the Washington Nationals, and the Oakland Athletics.
However, they faced a quality opponent, the Boston Red Sox, on Monday night and wound up winning 1-0 in another impressive pitching display.
Tampa is dominating the most basic activities and situations in baseball: pitching and hitting.
The numbers back that up.

Without major offseason acquisitions, the Rays are hitting bombs left and right.
They are producing runs like no other team in baseball, but the best part is that they are also preventing them on the mound.
Both their starters and relievers are top-notch, and that also gives them a competitive advantage.
Each and every player in the Rays organization knows and understands their role.
The offense, led by Wander Franco and Brandon Lowe but with other talented players like Randy Arozarena, Yandy Diaz, Luke Raley, and Isaac Paredes, is very disciplined and unexpectedly powerful.
Shane McClanahan, Jeffrey Springs, Drew Rasmussen, Josh Fleming, Zach Eflin, Pete Fairbanks, Jason Adam, Kevin Kelly, Ryan Thompson, Garrett Cleavinger, Jalen Beeks, Colin Poche, Calvin Faucher and several others form the most effective pitching staff in the league.
They have been a well-oiled machine, and are showing they are the best squad in baseball at the moment.
