At this point, it seems as though no matter what opposing teams try, the Tampa Bay Rays will have an answer for it.

On Wednesday, their season-opening hot streak continued against the Boston Red Sox.

It was a wild game at Tropicana Field on Wednesday night.

The Rays jumped out to an 8-3 lead, but the Red Sox began to chip away late and brought themselves to within 8-7.

But the Rays added a little insurance and held them off, winning by a final score of 9-7 and bumping their winning streak up to 12 games.

Tampa Bay has still yet to lose a game.

On Twitter, MLB posted a cool graphic to celebrate the continuation of such a historic streak.

With a win on Thursday, the Rays will tie the 1987 Milwaukee Brewers and the 1982 Atlanta Braves for the most consecutive wins to start a season in MLB history.

A lot has been going right for the Rays to start this season.

Their offense consists of stars such as Randy Arozarena, Isaac Paredes, Yandy Diaz, Brandon Lowe, and Wander Franco.

Their starting rotation has also been quite solid, even without Tyler Glasnow.

Shane McClanahan, Zach Eflin, Jeffrey Springs, and Drew Rasmussen have all performed quite well to start the season.

This is currently the best start in Rays history and the best start of any team since the beginning of the Wild Card era back in 1994.

The team will go for a four-game sweep of the Red Sox on Thursday as they hope to tie the 1982 Braves and 1987 Brewers.
