The Boston Red Sox are currently struggling offensively.
Starter Brayan Bello took a no-hitter into the eighth inning on Thursday night against the Miami Marlins, but the bats let him down as the Sox were shut out by a final score of 2-0.
The loss dropped them to 40-42 on the season as they remained in last place in the American League East.
In fact, the bats are mired in a shocking slump.
The Red Sox have scored just 11 runs in their last seven games.
According to Alex Speier of the Boston Globe, it’s their worst offensive stretch over seven games since 1981.
The Red Sox have scored 11 runs in their last 7 games, tied for their fewest over a 7-game stretch since 1981. They scored 4 runs while getting swept by the Marlins. Grisly details from @byJulianMack: https://t.co/nrEmebeKfA via @BostonGlobe

This is certainly an area of concern for the Red Sox.
Their offense has plagued them over their past seven games.
They currently are 3-7 in their last 10 games and have lost five in a row.
Boston managed to score just four runs in their series against the Marlins as they were ultimately swept.
To make matters worse, Bello was dealing for the Sox, as he gave them seven innings without allowing a hit.
However, he took the hard-luck loss as the Red Sox bats stayed quiet against the Fish.
Boston has a lineup that features stars such as Adam Duvall, Masataka Yoshida, Rafael Devers, Justin Turner, and Alex Verdugo.
However, the lineup has underachieved as of late and is one of many reasons why the Sox are sliding.
At 40-42 on the season, they’ll travel north of the border to take on the Toronto Blue Jays, who have won six of their last 10.
