Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown will enter the final year of his contract in 2023/24.
That means they need to agree on an extension soon before it becomes a talking point in the offseason, but that might not happen soon.
Some reports state that Brown doesn’t feel valued in Boston and that he wouldn’t mind switching sides if given the chance.
That means the Celtics would need to at least entertain the idea of trading him to the best suitor next season before he walks away for free.
Notably, ESPN Houston recently broke the news that the Houston Rockets would be more than interested in his services should he become available.

Brown is one of the league’s rising stars, a leader on and off the court, and one of the best young two-way players in the world right now.
The Rockets are craving some leadership right now.
Stephen Silas has seemingly lost his players’ respect, and the team’s lack of development, fundamentals, or ability to play team basketball has been a major concern for the fans.
Then again, they have more than enough young and appealing assets to at least try and pull off a trade for Brown, including players and first-round picks.
Of course, Brown hasn’t openly admitted that he wants to leave, and he’s been quite optimistic about his pairing with Jayson Tatum.
But we’ve seen this kind of story happen way too many times in the league, so don’t be shocked if he asks out if the Celtics fall short of their goal again this season.
