The New York Yankees have been bitten by the injury bug this year.
One position where they need all hands on deck is starting pitcher.
They signed Carlos Rodon in the offseason and he has yet to make a start for the team.
So that means the Yankees have had to count on a few young players to step into their rotation.
One of those pitchers is 25-year-old Jhony Brito.
He has made nine starts this season for the Yankees and has struggled.
His ERA is 5.58 and he has given up 42 hits in 40.1 innings pitched.
According to the Yankees PR team, Brito has been called up to start Wednesday night’s game.
Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees recalled RHP Jhony Brito (#76) from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

In his MLB debut back on April 2, Brito threw five scoreless innings.
But he has given up at least one run in every appearance after that.
Brito is not one of the Yankees’ top prospects but he is someone that can develop into a good starter.
The Yankees just hope Brito can keep them in the game long enough to give their offense a chance to win it.
With Aaron Judge on the sidelines, the Yankees are struggling to score runs.
Also playing in the AL East has made things very difficult for them.
That is by far the toughest division in baseball as all five teams have a record over .500.
New York is currently ten games out of first place in the East.
It is looking more and more like a Wild Card berth will be their only way into the postseason.
