The 2024 NBA Draft is nearly here, one of the most exciting days of the NBA offseason.
The draft is an opportunity for teams to acquire players that could change the trajectory of their franchise for the foreseeable future.
In some years, there is a clear-cut player who will be the No. 1 overall pick throughout the process.
For instance, when Victor Wembanyama declared for last year’s draft, he was viewed as the consensus No. 1 overall pick for several months, no matter what team ended up with that pick via the lottery system.
There has been more debate about the best prospect in the class ahead of this year’s draft.
Fans and analysts are torn about what will happen, which could make draft night that much more interesting.
While there are still many debates going on, sportsbooks have released odds of who this pick will be.
According to a recent tweet from ESPN Bet, Zaccharie Risacher currently has the most money on him to go No. 1 overall.
The majority of the money is on Zaccharie Risacher being the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft

Risacher currently has -250 odds of being the first player drafted, with the next closest being Donovan Clingan at +275.
ESPN Bet’s graphic also highlights the percent chance of both players being selected No. 1 overall.
By their estimation, Risacher has a 54% chance of going first, while Clingan sits at 35%.
Teams across the league will have to decide if they are comfortable going with Risacher, taking a chance on another French athlete, or if they prefer going with a player like Clingan, a former NCAA champion and an established stateside commodity.
