The 2023-2024 season was something of a whirlwind for the Los Angeles Clippers.
They were expected to make a deep playoff run after adding James Harden, and while they looked elite at times, the Clippers ended up going home sooner than expected.
With their early exit in mind, the Clippers have some difficult decisions to make heading into the 2024-2025 campaign.
One of those difficult decisions is deciding what to do with Paul George moving forward, who appears disgruntled with the team.
There has been chatter throughout the offseason about him looking for another team, which was recently corroborated by Marc Stein via NBA Central.
According to Stein, George could opt in to his current contract, but called it a “realistic option” that he would request a trade after making that decision.

The Clippers are unwilling to offer him a contract larger than Kawhi Leonard’s

Stein later said, “The Clippers appear to be unwilling to offer a richer deal to Paul George than Kawhi Leonard received in January,” a contract that was worth around $150 million for three years.
George has been a solid piece on this roster, but for whatever reason, the Clippers might be willing to let him go, especially at his current asking price.
Whether George will find what he’s looking for on another roster remains to be seen.
The Clippers’ experiment of having four star players on their roster didn’t work last year, and if they don’t see a bright future with this group, it might be time for them to cut their losses and move on from George.
