During the 2023-24 NBA regular season, the Chicago Bulls looked like a team that was ready to blow up their roster, with a number of players being mentioned in trade rumors frequently, like star guard DeMar DeRozan.
Along with DeRozan rumored to be on the trading block, Zach LaVine’s name was constantly mentioned as a player who was destined to be moved by Chicago, but a deal never came to fruition, with a lot of teams seemingly worried about his long-term health.
Alex Caruso was also a player named in a number of trade rumors, as he remains one of the best two-way players in the game today.
However, Caruso wasn’t moved before the NBA trade deadline either, which made many people wonder what the plan is for Chicago.
With the offseason underway for the Bulls and DeRozan headed for NBA free agency once again, it appears re-signing with Chicago might be the direction the veteran guard takes this summer, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype via NBA Central.
“The belief around the league is DeRozan will ultimately re-sign with the Bulls, given the team’s continued desire to compete, his role, and Chicago’s willingness to pay him,” Scotto said.
The Chicago Bulls are still looking to compete next season and aim to re-sign DeMar DeRozan, per @MikeAScotto

Although re-signing with the Bulls is a distinct possibility because that will likely be where he’ll make the most money with a new deal, DeRozan is bound to receive some interest around the league from title contenders looking to bring in another scorer.
It’ll be interesting to see where DeRozan ends up when the dust settles this summer, but remaining with Chicago could be what happens.
