There Is Growing Speculation About Justin Fields’ Future

The Chicago Bears have a lot of decisions to make in the offseason.

This team had a lot of energy and optimism surrounding them heading into the year, which has not materialized into on-field success.

Justin Fields was expected to take a giant leap forward, which was supposed to be a catalyst for the Bears’ improved season.

That didn’t happen in the way that many anticipated, leaving the team with a record of 6-9, currently last in the NFC North.

With this in mind, there is growing suspicion that the Bears will draft a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick.

As Jeremy Fowler pointed out via Dov Kleiman, the Bears could draft Caleb Williams, effectively starting over with a new quarterback.

RUMORS: Many people around the league believe the #Bears should take USC’s Caleb Williams and start over, per @JFowlerESPN

The Bears currently have the #1 overall pick in the 2024 draft via the #Panthers Bryce Young trade.

Williams is one of the most highly-touted quarterback prospects in recent memory and could serve the Bears well if he pans out.

Having a franchise quarterback is essential in today’s NFL.

If the Bears do not feel that Fields is the player they want to move forward with, they could draft Williams and find a trade partner for Fields.

Otherwise, they can continue to roll the dice with the player they already have, hoping he can finally take the jump in production they have been waiting for

There are many moving pieces to this decision, a decision the organization will not take lightly in the offseason.

However, with the Detroit Lions solidifying the division for the first time in franchise history, the Bears need to do something to compete in 2024 and beyond.
