Retiring from the NFL is a difficult decision for any player, regardless of how well they played throughout their career.
Fans were made vehemently aware of this during Jason Kelce’s emotional speech, where he outlined his thoughts on leaving the game.
Shortly after this, Tiki Barber appeared on the “Ross Tucker Podcast,” where he was asked about his career and why he retired so early.
He said, “I didn’t play the game to get into Canton.”

Barber also described himself as a JAG, “Just A Guy,” in his eyes, at least in the early days of his career.
He didn’t see himself as a future Hall of Famer or someone who would play in the NFL for a long time.
Barber indicated that he came into his own at the end of his career and finally found his place on a roster when his abilities were truly realized.
However, when he stopped “loving the game” as much as he did when he was younger, Barber made a choice.
He decided it was in his best interest to retire and step away from the game, even though he played at a high level.
While Barber might have been a great athlete and fun to watch on the field, his mind wasn’t in it.
As an NFL player, when your head isn’t 100% in the game, you can get injured more easily, and it can also be a difficult environment for your teammates.
