Tim Legler Names His Top-5 NBA Title Contenders

The NBA season is about to reach it’s boiling point.

We’re past the All-Star Game, which means it’s officially make-or-break time for playoff hopefuls and championship contenders.

Considering that, former NBA player Timothy Legler shared the list of his top five contenders (Via Get Up).

At No. 5, he chose the Phoenix Suns.

They haven’t been as dominant as they could’ve been in the first half of the season, but now that Bradley Beal is healthy, their Big 3 could be a serious threat come playoff time.

Then, he talked about the Dallas Mavericks, which was a bit of a surprise.

However, he believes that the additions of Daniel Gafford and PJ Washington gave them just what they needed, which was an interior presence, another big, and someone who could defend multiple positions while also being able to spread the floor.

The Los Angeles Clippers got the nod at No. 3.

They have the best record in the league since December 1, and it’s more than evident that they’ve already figured things out with James Harden bringing the ball up the court and Russell Westbrook doing his thing off the bench.

Unsurprisingly, he chose the Boston Celtics at No. 2.

They continue to be the ruling force in the Eastern Conference, especially with the Philadelphia Eagles missing Joel Embiid, and the Milwaukee Bucks struggling on defense.

Then, he chose the reigning NBA champions, the Denver Nuggets.

Legler believes their best basketball is still ahead of them, and they continue to have the best player in the league right now in Nikola Jokic.
