Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves is having one of the best seasons of his career and his team is surging because of that.

Edwards has publicly said that he believes he will be one of the best players in the league after this season.

His coach, Chris Finch, agrees with him.

Finch did an interview with the “Run It Back” crew and said that Edwards is “special” and will only get better.

He said that Edwards has improved when it comes to defense and has willingly and happily embraced big moments on offense too.

Best of all, Edwards is still young and will grow more in the seasons ahead.

“[Anthony Edwards] could be special, he really can be.”

Chris Finch has high praise for Ant.

Edwards is averaging 24.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists on 45.1% from the floor in 2023-24.

Those numbers are similar to what he has done over the three seasons before, but Edwards is definitely playing better than he has before.

There is a sort of aggressiveness that is obvious to see and Edwards appears much more engaged.

Perhaps it was his time in the FIBA World Cup, but Edwards seems eager to be a leader and is more involved with every player on his team and his basketball IQ has improved too.

Edwards is a huge part of the Timberwolves’ success this season.

The team sits atop the Western Conference with a 20-6 record, beating others like the Oklahoma City Thunder and even the reigning champion Denver Nuggets.

Edwards, Rudy Gobert, Karl-Anthony Towns, and a deep roster have been powering the Timberwolves.

Not only could this lead them to the NBA Finals, it could result in Edwards making good on his promise of being one of the best in the league.

“Special” doesn’t adequately sum up the young player this season.
