The Minnesota Timberwolves have been playing well this season and are currently the best team in the Western Conference.

They have such a good thing going and their roster has never looked better.

Sadly, they are going to be without one of their star players.

Jaden McDaniels injured his ankle in Monday night’s 117-110 win over the New York Knicks and head coach Chris Finch made it sound like fans would be waiting a while to see him again.

“Certainly not going to be day-to-day,” Finch revealed, via Timberwolves Talk on Twitter, adding that McDaniels will receive some tests on Tuesday to see how he is doing and how long he may be on the sidelines.

McDaniels suffered an ankle injury just four-and-a-half minutes into the game when he stepped on the foot of Karl-Anthony Towns.

He was able to walk off the court on his own but it was quickly clear that he was in bad shape and wouldn’t be back.

So far this season, McDaniels has averaged 9.5 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.

He is one of the most beloved starters for the team and there is concern about how the Timberwolves will fill the void he leaves.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker will likely step up to replace McDaniels.

Alexander-Walker has been good for 5.8 points and 2.5 assists in 2023-24 and he has replaced McDaniels in the past.

The key for the Timberwolves is continuity, they do not want to shake things up and mess with their chemistry.

They have gotten off to such a terrific start and they are hoping to keep it going.
