The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night and it wasn’t even close.

Their 115-70 victory was stunning for a ton of reasons, including the fact that the Nuggets are the reigning NBA champions and one of the toughest teams in the league.

According to ESPN BET, the Timberwolves now hold the largest win over a defending champion in NBA playoff history.

Additionally, their 45-point win is the second-most in NBA history when facing elimination.

It was Minnesota’s night and they downright embarrassed the Nuggets.

Anthony Edwards had 27 points, Jaden McDaniels lit up with 21, while Rudy Gobert posted 14 rebounds, and Naz Reid and Karl-Anthony Towns chipped in with 10 points each.

Minnesota’s defense was once again a huge part of the game, limiting just about everyone on the Nuggets’ roster.

Jamal Murray could only score 10 points, while Michael Porter Jr. and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope only scored single digits.

Nikola Jokic unsurprisingly led his team but he only scored 22.

It was a resounding win for the Timberwolves, inspiring their players and fans and forcing a Game 7.

Will they have the same luck in this next must-win game?

The Nuggets will surely play harder because they will be at home and so much is on the line.

But the Timberwolves saw what they needed to do to beat the Nuggets during Thursday’s game.

Will they follow the same game plan or make some adjustments to proactively stop Denver’s expected changes?

No matter how this series ends, the Timberwolves have proven a lot during the playoffs.

If they are able to win in Game 7, the Timberwolves will prove even more.
