Karl-Anthony Towns hasn’t played a game with his Minnesota Timberwolves since the start of March due to a knee injury but there has always been hope that he’ll return before the playoffs kick off.
Speaking with Darren Wolfson, Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor said that Towns’ recovery is “coming along really well” and “ahead of schedule.”
He isn’t sure of an exact date for Towns’ return but it sounds like he will be ready to play with the T-Wolves during this very pivotal postseason.

As noted by Wolfson, the team has survived quite well without Towns, scoring some big wins in the final weeks of the regular season.
This is good news, of course, as it shows that they could still compete without Towns if he isn’t able to play during the playoffs.
With that being said, the team obviously wants Towns back because he’s a central part of the team.
This year, he is averaging 22.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 3 assists on 50.6% from the field.
He could provide a huge assist to the team in the playoffs.
Speaking of those playoffs, the Timberwolves are still the second seed in the Western Conference with a 50-22 record.
However, it looks like they will be constantly competing with the Oklahoma City Thunder in the last few weeks because that team is consistently hot on their heels and the two squads could swap places before the start of the playoffs.
The Timberwolves are in their best position in years and they are hoping to capitalize on that.
They are also hoping that Towns’ return is swift and any readjustment period also doesn’t take much time so he will be quickly ready to help them win as much as they can in the playoffs.
