The Minnesota Timberwolves are in quite a predicament right now.

Chris Finch’s team shocked the world by taking down the reigning NBA champions in the second round.

Now, they’ll have to work some magic to replicate that milestone in the Western Conference Finals.

As pointed out by Matt Moore and the Action Network on Twitter, teams who get up to a 2-0 lead on the road are 16-0 in the Conference Finals, and that’s all-time.

The Timberwolves aren’t new to coming back from big deficits.

They beat the Denver Nuggets on the road twice before dropping three consecutive games to them.

Then, they won back-to-back matchups to punch their tickets to this stage.

This time, however, they’re going against a grittier defensive team, and their stars seem to be exhausted.

Anthony Edwards hasn’t been his usual aggressive self, especially late in games, and Karl-Anthony Towns’ character is being tested again.

Of course, this team has more than enough resources to pull this off and get the job done.

They had the best defense in the game, and they have the star power to come back from this.

Then again, the Dallas Mavericks are also playing championship-caliber basketball right now.

They have some bruisers to put up with their size in the frontcourt, and the pairing of Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving is one of the most offensively talented this game has ever seen.

Records are meant to be broken, and teams often make history in this league.

Still, the Timberwolves won’t have more room for error at this point.
