During the Tennessee Titans’ loss to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Titans All-Pro running back Derrick Henry left the matchup following a brutal hit at the end of a rushing attempt.

It was believed that Henry had sustained a concussion during the play, but apparently, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

On Monday, Tennessee head coach Mike Vrabel revealed that the veteran running back is actually not currently in concussion protocol, which means that he should be able to play during the team’s upcoming game against the Miami Dolphins next Monday.

Before he left the matchup against the Colts on Sunday, Henry had already rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries, so him having to leave the game definitely had a big impact on the Titans’ offense.

Unfortunately, Tennessee’s 2023 record dropped to 4-8 on Sunday after their 31-28 overtime loss to Indianapolis.

The contest between the two AFC South rivals was a wild one that featured two blocked punts, a pick-two on a two-point conversion, and a walk-off game-winning touchdown in overtime.

With the loss, any hopes that the Titans had of making the playoffs are pretty much out the door.

It’s not like Tennessee had much of a chance to earn a postseason berth before Sunday’s game, but the loss just put them even further down the current AFC standings.

The Titans are likely heading into an offseason that will be full of a bunch of changes, as they are currently on track to miss the playoffs and finish with a losing record for the second year in a row.
