Tom Brady is the greatest and most accomplished player in NFL history.

That doesn’t mean he was the most skilled, the most talented, or even the most athletic.

However, he was often the smartest guy in the room, and that helped him realize what he needed to do to find success in the league.

Brady was always known for being a team-first kind of guy, a caring teammate, and someone who made his teammates run through a brick wall for him with his leadership.

That’s why, when asked about what he looks for in a young quarterback, the seven-time Super Bowl champion talked about how quarterbacks need to endear themselves to their teammates.

He believes the key to having a long and successful career — besides staying healthy and putting in a lot of work, obviously — is to be the best teammate possible (via The Pivot and Carlos Talks Pats on Twitter.).

Tom Brady on what he looks out for in young QBs:

“When I watch quarterbacks, the first thing I watch is… does he endear himself to his teammates? What are the things that he’s saying? What are the things that he’s doing to endear himself to his teammates? So, that he does feel… pic.twitter.com/3ClybMIK7U

It surely worked out for him, as he walked away from the game with seven Super Bowl rings.

Everybody wanted to play with Brady, and not just because it gave any player a legitimate chance to win a championship.

He took way less money than he could’ve taken and that he would’ve made somewhere else to make sure everybody around him got taken care of.

That’s just one of the reasons why he helped the New England Patriots be the most dominant dynasty in the league for two decades, while other great quarterbacks might have to settle for one — or no — ring despite being more talented.
