The Kansas City Chiefs duo of Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce has been one of the best quarterback-tight end pairings in recent NFL history.

The two are headed to their sixth consecutive AFC Championship Game after connecting on two touchdowns in the divisional round win over the Buffalo Bills this past weekend, and will now face the Baltimore Ravens in the conference title match.

In doing so, the pair also broke the record for most playoff touchdowns by a duo set by another legendary quarterback and tight end: New England Patriots legends Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.

This moment didn’t pass Brady by without a comment from the GOAT himself, who called Mahomes and Kelce “BEASTS” in a social media post on Monday.

BEASTS. When you one up gronk you’re doing something right. https://t.co/s0Cbmxsbwd

The numbers speak for themselves and Mahomes and Kelce are undoubtedly the Brady and Gronkowski of the current NFL.

Both remain at the top of their respective positions and have been to multiple Super Bowls in recent years.

However, as good as Mahomes and Kelce are right now, they still have a long ways to go before they reach Brady and Gronkowski’s levels of greatness.

That Patriots and one-time Buccaneers pair won four Super Bowls together from 2014 to 2020 and are both likely first-ballot Hall-of-Fame players.

Mahomes and Kelce could reach that height and are surely first-ballot Hall-of-Famers themselves, but the two still have their own games to play and their own legacies to build before they leave the league.

For now, though, the two will continue to break records in the postseason as they and the Chiefs look to defend their Super Bowl title and look to claim their third Lombardi Trophy.
