The New England Patriots took a chance with Tom Brady.
The Michigan product wasn’t the most sought-after product by any means, and he slipped all the way to the sixth round.
Needless to say, his performance at the NFL Scouting Combine wasn’t exactly the most impressive.
He was never known for his speed, his mobility, or his athleticism.
Nonetheless, Brady put in a lot of hours to work on his body and technique, and that’s why he was able to find so much success and stay healthy for many years.
As a matter of fact, a clip showing him running the 40-yard dash at age 46 showed that he’s actually faster now than he was over 20 years ago when he took part in the combine (via No Bull and NFL).

The clip went viral in the blink of an eye, and it was a testament to Brady’s unmatched work ethic around the league.
Brady didn’t even play last season and admittedly took his workouts a little lighter since he left the league, yet he was still able to outrun his old self from over 20 years ago.
Even if he wasn’t at his best 20 years ago because he was tired, nervous, anxious, or whatnot, the fact that he could keep up with his own self at age 46 is just remarkable.
Perhaps a couple of teams will take a look at this clip and at least wonder whether they should pick up the phone and give him a call to see if he wants to run it back again.
