The New York Knicks needed a star.

They hadn’t had one since Carmelo Anthony left, as Kristaps Porzingis’ tenure in the Big Apple was short-lived and didn’t come with a single postseason appearance.

Now, they’ve found that guy in Jalen Brunson.

Notably, one could think that it took a larger-than-life character to take over the basketball Mecca, but that’s nowhere near the case with Brunson.

He’s a down-to-earth, approachable, and humble guy.

According to Tom Thibodeau, that’s what makes him so special.

Following their win in Game 2, the Knicks coach claimed that Brunson wasn’t only an elite player but also a humble player, and that’s why he is one of a kind (via NBA & ClutchPoints).

“The best part of Jalen [Brunson] is his humility… I think that’s what makes him so special.”

The Knicks are two wins away from the Eastern Conference Finals, a stage they haven’t reached in more than two decades.

Brunson has taken Madison Square Garden by storm, and some believe he has a strong chance to go down as the greatest point guard in franchise history.

Brunson finished the season as a top-five MVP candidate, and even if the Knicks don’t get the job done this season, he’s made them fun to watch and a playoff contender again.
