The NBA All-Star Game has come under fire over the last few years because of its lack of true competition and high stakes.
For many, they have felt like lackluster and unimportant events that featured players just having fun instead of actually exerting themselves.
Former NBA star Tracy McGrady has an idea to inject good energy into the game.
According to Legion Hoops, he recommended a rule that says a player can’t score until everyone is past the half-court line.
“Because what we’ve seen in the All-Star game this past year, guys was just taking the ball out, throwing one pass, and then it was a layup,” McGrady said.

McGrady has a point because there have been many occasions during the All-Star Game that featured one player tossing the ball down the court to another, who scores an easy layup.
McGrady’s rule would help with that but there would need to be more changes too.
Fans tune in because they want to see their favorite players facing off against each other in a high-intensity match.
Instead, they have witnessed the biggest players in the league casually having fun, dunking on each other, and showing off.
Many NBA followers have lost interest in the All-Star Game.
However, other events during All-Star Weekend like the dunk contest remain popular.
The league has made some tweaks recently to bring more excitement to the game and they probably aren’t done yet.
Will they listen to the advice of McGrady and adjust the rules to prohibit easy layups?
