Last season, the Jacksonville Jaguars had somewhat of a coming out party, with the team finally starting to live up to expectations with star quarterback Trevor Lawrence leading the charge under center for the struggling NFL franchise.
After a few years of disappointment, the Jaguars were able to come into their own last year with new head coach Doug Pederson figuring out how to get this team firing on all cylinders and able to compete in a highly competitive AFC.
Obviously, the key to success for the Jaguars is Lawrence, and if he can be the quarterback everyone expected him to be coming out of college.
Lawrence showed flashes of brilliance during the 2022 campaign and hopes to keep that going in 2023, especially with the addition of star wide receiver Calvin Ridley.
The up-and-coming quarterback recently talked about having Ridley on the team with Sara Walsh of NFL Network.
“His work ethic, the way he practices, he’s such a special talent,” Lawrence said.

Ridley has yet to take a snap that counts for the Jaguars, and he’s already become a fan favorite and arguably the top target in the passing game for Lawrence.
Even as Lawrence is talking about Ridley, he can’t keep from smiling because he knows the true potential the quarterback-receiver duo has going into the 2023 campaign, as Jacksonville could go from a playoff team to a legitimate title contender in the AFC with a potent offense.
It’ll be interesting to see if Ridley is back to form as one of the best receivers in the game after missing so much time and the impact he’ll have on the team during the upcoming season.
