If you play football, are in great shape, and can run very, very fast, chances are that the Miami Dolphins will want to sign you.
They already had plenty of speedsters on offense, but it seems like HC Mike McDaniel wanted even more.
That’s why they got one of the fastest running backs in the 2024 NFL Draft, taking Jaylen Wright in the fourth round.
Notably, it didn’t take long before the Tennessee product made a strong impression on his teammates.
He logged 55 yards on ten carries for a very respectable 5.5 yards per carry in the preseason opener vs. the Atlanta Falcons, also adding a six-yard touchdown.
Considering that, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa had some praise for his new teammate, stating that he’s got some swag (via Around the NFL):
“I think that was one of the first times I can really say that I’ve seen his personality with running the ball,” Tagovailoa said. “Runs the ball and then throws one of those — I was like OK, he’s got some swag to him.”

Wright will join the fastest running back room in the entire league.
The Dolphins already have a Pro Bowler in Raheem Mostert and a promising speedster in De’Von Achane, who wreaked havoc as a rookie when healthy.
That means he’ll have to keep putting in a lot of work to make his way to the field when it actually counts.
Wright was an obvious target for Mike McDaniel when he ran a 4.38 40-yard dash, and he’s clearly made a strong impression during training camp to get that kind of workload vs. the Falcons as well.
The Dolphins have the fastest and most explosive offensive core of players in the entire league, and they should be very fun to watch for as long as coach McDaniel is there.
