If you asked the average Cincinnati Bengals fan before the season if they knew who Jake Browning was, they would likely say no.
Browning has been in charge of helping the Bengals make their way back into the fold for the playoffs after Joe Burrow’s injury.
While he had an uphill climb ahead of him when he took over the job, things are looking upward for the Bengals.
They have an 8-6 record heading into their weekend matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
When looking ahead to this weekend’s matchup, Tee Higgins told reporter Mike Petraglia this game is “a must-win to keep our playoff hopes alive.”

A win would significantly help the Bengals’ playoff chances.
They would move to 9-6, and depending on how things play out with the rest of the weekend games, they could find themselves with the fifth seed in the AFC.
A loss complicates things for this team.
They would move to 8-7, potentially throwing them in the mix with other contending teams.
As Higgins said, this game is paramount for the Bengals’ playoff chances.
While it wouldn’t guarantee them a postseason berth, it puts them that much closer to securing the unlikely berth.
Making the playoffs seemed like a pipe dream after the team’s slow start and an even further possibility after Burrow went down.
If Browning can help the team pull this off, not only will he be praised by the fanbase, but he’ll also likely guarantee himself a spot on an NFL roster in 2024, whether for the Bengals or another team.
