It’s one thing to make it to the NBA, and entirely different to actually make it in the NBA.
And even though he hasn’t been in the league for long, one could argue that Tyrese Haliburton has already made it.
The Iowa State product just signed a five-year max contract extension with the Indiana Pacers that could be worth as much as $260 million.
Needless to say, signing that extension was a pivotal moment in his life, which is why he took some time to thank his mother during an emotional press conference.

It didn’t take long before people realized that Haliburton was a special kind of talent.
Even though the Sacramento Kings had to give him up to land Domantas Sabonis, it might’ve been just what he needed to elevate his game even further, regardless of his youth and little experience in the pros.
There’s no doubt that the Pacers have officially made him the centerpiece of their rebuilding project, up to the point where he was reportedly the one urging them to sign Bruce Brown Jr.
Haliburton has the potential to be a 25+ points-per-game scorer, all while leading the league in assists per game, and the Pacers were even a playoff-caliber team when he was healthy last season.
The sky seems to be the limit for him, and hopefully for the fans, he’ll be the one to finally get them over the hump, as not many small markets can brag about having a superstar for years.
