The Los Angeles Clippers will head into the 2023-24 NBA season with the lowest expectations the team has had since they signed Kawhi Leonard and acquired Paul George in a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

It seems that after all the disappointing seasons for the Clippers, with their two superstars seemingly always hurt, the league and the media are no longer considering this team to be anything more than a playoff contender in the Western Conference.

Obviously, this is a big change for the Clippers, as they’ve been supposed title contenders on an annual basis, but that expectation appears to be too high for this team that always falls apart physically.

Even though all the talk in the West is about the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers, and Phoenix Suns, the Clippers still make headlines on occasion, as they did by naming Terance Mann their fifth starter to begin the 2023-24 campaign, according to Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN.

This could change quickly if the Clippers make a deal with the Philadelphia 76ers for superstar guard James Harden, as Mann or Russell Westbrook would be headed to the bench to make way for the one-time NBA MVP.

However, there’s no telling whether that deal will ever happen at this point, as the Clippers don’t seem to be budging because they want to keep Mann, but the 76ers are adamant about getting him in the deal.

In the meantime, the Clippers will roll with Westbrook, Mann, George, Leonard, and Ivica Zubac to start the season, which is a pretty solid starting five as long as they can stay healthy.
