The Los Angeles Clippers pushed past the Denver Nuggets on Thursday night, 102-100.
During the game, Russell Westbrook scored 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists off the bench, giving the team a big boost and helping them earn a tight but important victory.
After the game, head coach Ty Lue spoke about Westbrook and what he brings to the team.
“He’s a freak of nature,” Lue said, speaking of Westbrook’s competitiveness and athleticism, via the NBA on Twitter.
Lue said that the Clippers needed the version of Westbrook they had on Thursday night but he also added that they need him to play like that every single night.

The Clippers recently lost Westbrook for a number of games because of an injury and they quickly learned how much they missed him.
They suffered a few painful losses with Westbrook on the bench and it was clear that he adds a much-needed boost of energy and a competitive edge.
Since Westbrook’s return at the end of March, the Clippers have gone 4-2.
As for Westbrook, he has averaged 11.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 4.2 assists since coming back from his injury.
The Clippers are the fourth seed in the West, which means they have earned their spot in the playoffs.
Right now, they are scheduled to face off against the Dallas Mavericks in the opening round, which will be tough competition.
If the Clippers wish to make it into the second round of the postseason, they will need Westbrook to continue playing like a “freak of nature,” making big plays, helping his teammates out, and constantly performing with high energy.
The Clippers lost Westbrook for awhile this season and they didn’t like it.
They definitely don’t want to lose him again.
