It took them a while, but the Phoenix Suns might finally have the missing piece they were looking for.
While not an All-Star by any means, Tyus Jones has proven to be a more than capable point guard.
Signing him could be a huge step in that direction, as he’s a pass-first kind of guy who rarely makes mistakes or turns the ball over.
As a matter of fact, he’s leading the league with the highest assist to turnover ratio in the past 45 years (Via State Muse).

He’s averaged 7.35 assists per turnover, 7.04, and 6.96 in different seasons.
In hindsight, trading for Bradley Beal may have turned out to be a big mistake for the Suns.
It’s not that he’s not a good player; it’s that he’s not the kind of player they needed, especially to replace Chris Paul.
While Devin Booker and Kevin Durant are willing passers who could get an assist or two, neither of them is a traditional playmaker and as such, it’s not much of a surprise to see the Suns struggle to get to their spots or deploy their sets, particularly late in games.
That shouldn’t be an issue with a traditional point guard like Jones.
Jones will play within his role and not try to do too much, but he can also get buckets if needed.
As for the Suns, perhaps they could consider bringing Beal off the bench if he’s willing to embrace that role, as that would most definitely give them much more offensive balance.
